BIM/CAD Coordination

BIM/CAD Coordination Department

The Building Information Modeling (BIM) team at E.G. Sawyer brings expertise in all facets of BIM coordination and collaboration. We are dedicated to being at the forefront of BIM technology and evolving industry practices.

Our department draws on decades of combined experience across the electrical, construction, and engineering sectors. Team members have served in a variety of roles—including journeyman electricians, foremen, engineering assistants, and project coordinators—equipping us with a comprehensive understanding of the entire project lifecycle.

Efficiency is central to our approach. Many of our projects demand a high level of coordination, and we have a proven track record of working collaboratively with engineers, architects, and vendors. By identifying and resolving potential design conflicts early in the process, we help reduce rework and minimize costly delays during construction.

We work with a range of Level of Development (LOD) standards to ensure that models are tailored to each project’s unique requirements:

  • LOD 100 – Conceptual Design
  • LOD 200 – Schematic Design
  • LOD 300 – Detailed Design
  • LOD 350 – Construction Documentation
  • LOD 400 – Fabrication and Assembly
  • LOD 500 – Record Drawing / Facility Management

The BIM team also works closely with our prefabrication shop during the pre-planning phase to develop optimal strategies for project execution. We generate detailed drawings for a variety of components and layouts—including spool sheets, rack assemblies, panels, and room-in-a-box configurations. This collaborative process enhances project efficiency, supports adherence to schedule, and helps achieve cost-effective outcomes.
